SHINee, SNSD, Big Bang and 2NE1 featured on online fashion site, ‘Refinery29′

Many fashionistas may know of ‘Refinery29.com‘, a popular one-stop website for fashion, style, and shopping.

The site posted an article today called ‘Kpop Cheat Sheet: The Bands To Know Before They Blow Up’, and introduced Big Bang, 2NE1, SNSD, and SHINee to their readers. The passage read:

“Okay, we’re calling it, right here, right now. Kpop is going to be 2012′s hottest trend. Straight out of Seoul, these acts are already bringing their edgy, high-end style and infectious tunes all over the world. Asia knows what we’re talking about. Europe is already obsessed. South America goes gaga for these multi-talented superstars. And North America? The craze has already started with the hottest Korean acts selling out Madison Square Garden in NYC, the Staples Center in LA, and the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas — just to name a few places. Key : After Taemin came back from (Koala Kid) recording, I thought, since it was “Koala Kid”, then he should have imitated the sound made by a koala. Normally, when people asked a question, they would imagine what it would be like - doesn’t everyone ask questions just to hear what the expected answer? Japanese media criticize SHINee for using SMAP’s popularity for promotion

Recently, SHINee was forced to cancel their event in Japan due to safety issues as too many fans were gathered in the area. However, media in Japan have been reporting that the reason why there was such a big crowd was because the organizer of the event stated that the group holding the event is “a 5-member group with a name beginning with the letter S.” This made the crowd believe that the organizer was referring to a popular Japanese group, SMAP. This has angered netizens and resulted in criticism that SHINee was trying to boost their popularity with SMAP’s name.

Following the cancellation of the event, SHINee expressed, “Given that there was such a big crowd, it is a shame that we had to cancel the event. But we still want to thank our fans for their support.” However, local Japanese media later revealed that there has been a mistake as the only reason why so many fans gathered is because there were workers handing out fliers on the streets, with a message telling the fans to find 5 Santa Clauses with the name starting with S. As the clue given fits SMAP, rumours began to spread that SMAP would be at the event, and the crowd started to gather based on false information.

It will never be known as to whether the organizer’s intentions were to mislead the public; however, with the event canceled, it is a big disappointment for the fans who attended the event in hopes of supporting SHINee.

[News] Actress Hwang Shin Ye wants Shinee Minho to be her son

Actress Hwang Shin Hye reveals that she want SHINee’s Minho as her son on the press conference!

The actress stated “I’ve been preparing my acting role as a mother recently,” Hwang Shinye revealed during the press conference on the 14th.

She continued, “It’s my first time to be the mother of an adult actor (instead of a child), so I want to be the mother of handsome male actor.”
The person she chose to be her son was Minho, a member of boy group SHINee.
She explained “Minho and I go to same gym. He is very handsome and warm. I’ve even said that I wanted to be Minho’s mom before.”

The grand prize winners from Japan’s ‘K-Pop Lovers! Awards 2011‘ have just been revealed!
